Rina Stinson is an associate in the Orange County office of Theodora Oringher. She focuses her practice on complex commercial litigation, with a strong emphasis on class action and coordinated matters. Rina previously won a unanimous jury verdict as second-chair for institutional and individual defendants against multiple tort claims. She currently serves as defense liaison counsel representing the Roman Catholic Bishop of Orange in proceedings encompassing hundreds of individual suits. In that capacity, she serves as the primary liaison for experts, investigators, and individual employees. Her compassionate communication and respect for the right to privacy benefit parties and counsel on both sides of the aisle.
Rina first earned certification as a victim’s advocate in 2013 as an active member of the Sexual Assault Response Team at the Women’s Resource Center in Oceanside, CA. She then trained new SART volunteers on trauma-sensitive communication and self-care. She continues providing pro bono legal services to survivors through Laura’s House, a domestic violence agency in Orange County, CA.
Rina’s understanding of the inherent potential and challenges of business leadership springs from both personal experience and multi-generational knowledge. She has represented individuals and employers in discrimination, wrongful termination, constructive discharge, retaliation, and wage and hour matters in state and federal courts. She earned her J.D. from the University of California, Irvine School of Law, where she founded and chaired It Takes a Village, a student organization for those caring for dependents. While there, she earned the Dean’s Merit Scholarship and both the Faculty and Dean’s Awards for her academic performance and writing ability.
Ms. Stinson clerked for the District Attorney’s Offices of Los Angeles and Orange Counties, and served as a legal extern for the Honorable Kimberly Knill of Superior Court of California, County of Orange.
