Tammy Jager Peasley

Tammy Jager Peasley specializes in civil litigation, including arbitration and mediation, with an emphasis on business, construction disputes, labor and employment, and real estate. 

Additionally, Ms. Peasley represents clients before state and federal agencies including the Department of Fair Employment and Housing (DFEH), Department of Industrial Relations and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC). 

Ms. Peasley regularly counsels and advises employers with respect to discrimination and sexual harassment, implementation and review of employee handbooks, policies and procedures, leaves of absence, termination and discipline, and wage and hour law.

  • Defended employers in lawsuits involving wrongful termination, breach of contract, pregnancy discrimination, age/gender/racial/disability discrimination, harassment and sexual harassment, and FMLA/CFRA issues
  • Defended employers in claims involving wage and overtime issues, including administrative hearings before the DFEH and EEOC
  • Defended employers in wrongful termination claims based on Labor Code Section 132A in Workers Compensation Appeals Board
  • Defended employer in class action claims relating to payment of overtime wages and exempt status
  • Represented employers in claims against employees involving embezzlement of company funds and property
  • Represented employees in separation and severance package negotiations
  • Successfully resolved many claims of defamation on behalf of companies and individuals
  • Has represented both plaintiffs and defendants in invasion of privacy and misappropriation of likeness claims
  • Prevailed on matter representing mortgage lender against borrower and agents involving fraud, mortgage lending issues, and alter ego theory resulting in a punitive damages award
  • Represented company and shareholders in shareholder dispute involving breach of fiduciary duty resulting in defense judgment on behalf of client
  • Represented company constructing fuel systems for airport against large European aviation company
  • Represented contractors, subcontractors and homeowners in numerous construction defect and other construction related matters, including foreclosure of mechanic's liens
  • Represented individual in claims against city and defended against municipality's claims of immunity
  • Managed team of lawyers involved in representation of large public entity in claims of indemnity and contribution
  • Managed more than 70 lawyers on complex litigation for large insurance company
  • Represented individual in claims against parents of a minor for negligent supervision
  • Represented partners in actions involving partnership dissolutions and accounting
  • Represented boxing industry in more than 500 federal anti-piracy lawsuits against commercial establishments for violations of Federal Communications Act and Cable Communications Act

As Of Counsel to the Firm, she is an independent attorney with a separate law practice that handles matters and clients having no affiliation with the firm, who also works on certain specific matters for the firm on a contract and case by case basis.
