Jon Mower is a trial specialist with over 50 jury verdicts to his credit. He has represented litigants in a wide variety of cases including individual and class actions involving discrimination and ADA claims, business and commercial disputes, products liability actions, employment matters, major personal injury cases, professional liability actions, and insurance claims.
In more than 35 years of trial practice Mr. Mower has developed a reputation as one of the premier civil trial lawyers in Southern California. He has litigated cases in both federal and state courts in California, Arizona, Florida and New York representing both plaintiffs and defendants, including class action cases and complex commercial disputes. Mr. Mower has obtained total verdicts of over $100 million and has also successfully defended through trial matters with collective claims of over $100 million. His experience on both sides of the civil litigation system has provided him with a unique and powerful insight into what it takes to prevail in the trial arena.
Jon has lectured widely in his area of trial strategy and technique including multiple programs with judges in Orange County where he has served as moderator on judicial panels regarding trial litigation and trial procedures and tactics. His present practice focuses on trial, and pre-trial strategy, in cases of major economic significance for both individual and corporate litigants.
Mr. Mower has lectured widely in the areas of civil litigation and trial practice including presentations with the Orange County Bar Association, University of California Irvine, National Business Institute and multiple civic and educational organizations. He has served on multiple occasions as the moderator for the presentation “What Civil Court Judges Want You to Know” where he has moderated a panel of Orange County and Los Angeles County judges put on by the National Business Institute.
Mr. Mower is a frequent lecturer and panelist at continuing legal education programs involving trial and class action law. Presentation topics include “Litigation Strategy and Trial Presentation,” “Partnership and Business Ownership Disputes,” “Employment Law Essentials for the Small and Mid-Size Business,” “Mastering Cross-Examination at Trial,” “Recent Developments in Class Action Law,” and Effective Discovery in Business Litigation,” among others. He has spoken at a variety of legal and business education programs including the upcoming “Judicial Panel on Civil Litigation” in which he will act as Moderator.
