James Bilek is an associate in the Los Angeles office of Theodora Oringher PC. James began his legal career as a Deputy District Attorney in the Orange County District Attorney’s Office where he worked for approximately nine years. As a Deputy District Attorney, he led the prosecution of serious felony cases in the Domestic Violence, Human Trafficking, and Insurance Fraud units. Prior to joining Theodora Oringher, James worked as a Deputy City Attorney with the Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office in their Police Litigation Unit. He represented the City of Los Angeles, Los Angeles Police Department, and its employees in civil rights lawsuits in both state and federal court. James has extensive experience in leading the management of complex and high-exposure lawsuits. To date, he has first-chaired more than fifty jury trials in both state and federal court. James is admitted to all state courts in California as well as the Federal Court for the Central District of California.
