Jon-Jamison Hill has over 15 years of experience litigating cases in both federal and state courts, as well as extensive arbitration and mediation experience.  Jon has broad commercial litigation experience in a wide variety of areas and industries, including contract and business disputes, construction and public works litigation, appeals, intellectual property, real estate, class actions, trade secret litigation, groundwater contamination and professional responsibility matters.  While primarily a litigator, Jon has also counseled his clients in major transactions, using his experience to provide them with the guidance necessary to help them avoid litigation if the transaction fails.

Representative Matters

  • Represented large public transportation agency in connection with litigation brought by contractor responsible for 1-405 HOV expansion and infrastructure improvement project involving over $400 million in claims asserted by contractor involving dozens of major issues relating to delay, acceleration, disruption and schedule.
  • Obtained dismissal of all claims in a high-profile case against the Producers of Academy Award© winning film The Hurt Locker, and successfully defended dismissal on appeal
  • Prosecution of groundwater contamination claims brought by cities against manufacturers of defective fertilizer and soil fumigant products
  • Trial of claims brought against startup company for misappropriation of trade secrets and breach of fiduciary duty by its founders
  • Prosecution of claims brought by Massachusetts school district, on behalf of a class of other municipalities, for damage caused by polychlorinated biphenyls in caulk and other building materials used to construct numerous Massachusetts schools
  • Defense of a prominent credit counseling agency in a nationwide class action alleging claims of unfair business practices, violations of the Credit Repair Organizations Act and violations of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act resulting in a favorable settlement for the client
  • Prosecution of civil claims on behalf of a bankruptcy trustee against an international banking institution and a number of hedge funds for fraudulent transfers resulting in significant recovery for the bankruptcy trustee
  • Represented developer in judicial foreclosure and construction defect litigation stemming from construction of a $16 Million Beverly Hills residence, which resulted in favorable settlement for the client
  • Trial of claims brought by a prominent tax attorney for services he rendered to a client, resulting in a multi-million dollar jury verdict in the attorneys' favor
  • Representation of a bestselling author in connection with the misappropriated film rights to his book series, resulting in return of certain film rights to the author
  • Represented owners of estate in Encino, California in construction defect lawsuit against general contractor and over 23 different sub-contractors alleging water intrusion and resultant damage on $3 Million remodel project, which resulted in favorable settlement for the client
  • Defense of a telemarketer and call servicing center, along with its principals, in an action brought by the Federal Trade Commission for alleged false statements and misleading advertising resulting in a favorable settlement for the clients
  • Defense of an international technology company in a wage and hour class action lawsuit that resulted in dismissal of all class claims against the client
