Clients turn to Theodora Oringher's Appellate Practice Group for effective written and oral advocacy at the appellate level.  Attorneys within the group are well-versed in litigating writs and appeals on a wide range of topics, from constitutional due process challenges to procedural choice of law issues to the scope of state statutes.  Our clients range from individuals to businesses, public entities, and other institutions.  We help clients keep their wins, reverse their losses, and develop beneficial law in their industries.  Of course, the focus always remains on efficiently and creatively achieving each client’s litigation and business objectives.

In addition to successfully representing clients before appellate courts, members of the Theodora Oringher Appellate Practice Group have helped establish significant legal precedent in dozens of published decisions, often on issues of first impression.  Theodora Oringher attorneys have  represented parties and amicus in two matters before the United States Supreme Court and twelve matters before the California Supreme Court.  This is in addition to appearing in over 100 matters before the California Courts of Appeal and a dozen matters before the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.*

The Appellate Practice Group also complements the firm’s trial practice, serving a key role in advancing clients’ interests in sophisticated, high-stakes trials. Members of the Appellate Practice Group regularly collaborate with trial teams by anticipating possible appellate challenges, laying the foundation for appeal arguments, and seeking available interim appellate relief.  In addition, Theodora Oringher’s appellate lawyers routinely brief dispositive and post-trial motions, bringing their proven written and oral advocacy skills to the trial court.

By drawing upon the firm’s deep well of trial skills and broad appellate experience, Theodora Oringher is uniquely positioned to see its clients through all the pivotal stages of litigation, whether at trial or before an appellate court.
