Timothy J. Heggem Joins Theodora Oringher PC
THEODORA ORINGHER PC is pleased to welcome Tim Heggem to the firm as an Associate Attorney in the firm’s Orange County office. Tim is one of the few attorneys in the country to focus on the growing esports and new media industries. Tim launched an esports practice over two years ago, and he continues to assist esports organizations and professional esports teams with corporate formation, employment counseling, and commercial litigation. Tim also has a wide range of experience representing large companies in complex commercial litigation in state and federal courts, with a particular focus on insurance coverage litigation (on behalf of policyholders), intellectual property litigation, and white collar criminal defense. Tim's litigation practice includes appeals, having briefed cases before the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, Third Circuit Court of Appeals, and California Courts of Appeal.
After graduating from law school in 2010, Tim began his legal career as an associate in the Newport Beach office of Irell & Manella LLP, where he represented large corporate clients in high-stakes intellectual property litigation, white collar criminal defense, and securities litigation. In 2015, Tim joined the Irvine office of Payne & Fears LLP as an associate. In addition to launching the firm's esports practice, he focused primarily on representing large corporate policyholders in insurance coverage litigation.
Tim received his J.D. from Yale Law School and his B.A. in philosophy from Biola University, summa cum laude.
While in law school, Tim was a finalist in the mock trial competition, after which he served as a board member of the mock trial program. Tim was also a founding member of the national trial advocacy team that competed and placed in the National Trial Competition. Tim coaches a local high school’s mock trial team through the Constitutional Rights Foundation, Orange County.
